1. Raiders of the Lost Ark, according to me, it the best movie of the 80's, in fact I think it's one of the best movies in the entire world. This movie took adventure to a whole new level, Indiana Jones is a great character, he'll always be in our hearts. This is such a classic movie, everything about it is just so good. The movie is action-packed,, but it doesn't leave out the dramatic parts or the characters. Spielberg took his time to build up his characters while they were running for their lives from whatever was around the corner. Raiders of the Lost Ark is a masterpiece, and is a must-see film for fans of film.
2. The Empire Strikes Back, no doubt has to be on this list. It's a sci-fi masterpiece. Star Wars probably the most loved movie franchise and I think this is the best movie in the franchise. It had some very dramatic moments, great character development, and outstanding battle sequences. If you haven't seen this movie then you must live in a hole in the Middle-East. The Empire Strikes Back is a great movie and is a must-see film for anyone.
3. Die Hard, is one of the greatest action movies in the world. It was intense, action-packed and introduced us to one of cinemas most loved movie characters. The movie was violent and so damn exciting, it's no doubt Bruce Willis' best movie. Yes, The Sixth Sense is fantastic, but Die Hard is so good and so fun. There's no way you can't love this movie.
4. The Thing, is my favorite horror movie, it's scary, intense and so good. There were some great horror classics in the 80's like A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Shining, but this movie took horror to a new level. This movie was a very contained and a very, very intense. I didn't know who to trust. The Thing inspired over half of the horror directors that are active today, now that's saying something.
5. The Princess Bride, is probably the most romantic movie out there. Yes, Titanic is out there, but The Princess Bride is much more romantic. Westley goes through hell to fin his love and so does the princess. The movie is not only a romance, no, it's an exciting fantasy with amazing, well made sword fights. The movie is full of classic lines and classic characters that add up to a classic movie. The Princess Bride is no doubt one of the best movies of the 80's.
Well, that's what I thought, now I'd like to know what you guys think the best films of the 80's are. I'd love to know in the comments below.
